Nettie was the daughter of Charlie Gaston and Jennie (Herring)Bass.

Nettie married Leander Lee on March 20, 1927 in Dillon, South Carolina.

Together they had five children:

1--Edith (1930-1930)
2--Rachel (1932-1995)
3--Dorothy Mae (1936-2008)
4--Son (1940-1940)
5--Son (1943-1943)

Obituary:
Mrs. Nettie Bass Lee, 59, died Saturday. Funeral 4 p. m. today at Long Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Margaret Bullard, Mrs. Dorothy West, Mrs. Rachel Johnson. Mrs. Myrtle Britt, all of Lumberton; sons, Robert Bass of Lumberton, Marshall Flipps of Rt. 2 Lumberton; sisters; Mrs. Mrs.Maudie Prevatte of Fairmont, Mrs. Geneva Christenburg of Dillon, S.C. ; brothers Jimmie Bass of US Army, Worth Bass of High Point, Jack Bass of Miami, Fla., Richard Bass of Dayton, Ohio.

Margaret Bullard was the daughter of Nettie's husband Leander Lee from his first marriage to Flossie "Bell" (Ward) Lee. Myrtle Ruth Britt was the daughter of Fannie Bell (Lee) Britt. Fannie Bell was a sister to Nettie's husband Leander Lee. Robert Bass was the son of Nettie's brother Jimmie Bass. Marshall Flipps married Mae the daughter of Richard Lee. Richard was the brother of Leander Lee.


Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Leander Lee who were killed in an auto accident Saturday were held Monday at 4 p.m. at the Long Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Sellers, the Rev. Paul Forester and the Rev. L. L. Todd officiating. Burial was in the New Hollywood Cemetery.

A quartet from Long Branch Baptist Church provided music. They were Hubert Ammons, Mrs. Wanda Ammons, Mrs. Beth Brissom and Mrs. Jan Sessoms with Mrs. J. A. Stone playing the organ.

A trio from Hyde Park Baptist Church also provided music. They were Mrs. Paul Forester, Mrs. Jack Parker, and Mrs. Hubert West with Mrs. J. Taylor at the Piano .

Pallbearers were Sonny Oliver, Harold Stone, Grady Stone, Jr. , Hobert Britt, Carl Stevens, Marvin Walters, Donald Stone, J.A. Stone, Charles Britt, and Milton Lawson.

In charge of flowers were Mmes, Jerry Clements, Raeford Rowell, Bill Bright, John Parnell, Paul Forester, Marvin Hayes, Hubert West, junior Hardin, Jack Parker, Otis west, Bell Parker, Mrs. Brenda West, Mabel Walters, Bertie Rice, Minnie Stone, Lanie Stone, Misses Peggy Parker, Margaret (the rest of the write-up is missing).
