NOTES from her daughter Linda.
Several years after mom and dad were married she (in 1954) went to work at Belk's Department and later ran a Florist for about 15 years. She was also director of activities at the Pines Convalescent Home in Dillon, S.C. for years where she taught arts and crafts. Mom was great with crafts and flower arranging.
After she retired her friends would gather at her house around her kitchen table and mom would teach them how to make all different kinds of crafts. They made lamps, Christmas trees, Angels, the three wise men, pictures on glass plates and I could go on and on. Mom also made quilts and crocheted, and at Christmas time her friends would gather at her house for her to make their Christmas bows and wreaths. At Christmas time she always decorated big time.

Mom joined Kentyre Presbyterian Church March 5, 1944 and in April 1998 she became an Elder of Kentyre Presbyterian Church. She was the third woman to be elected Elder of Kentyre Presbyterian Church serving until her death in 2004. She also served as Moderate of the Presbyterian Women.

Mom went to sleep one night and quietly passed away. This was a shock since she had not been sick. She was still very active and living by herself.

Mom had brown hair, brown eyes and stood 5 feet 2 inches tall.
