Mr. James Alva "Jim" Luke, 68, husband of the late Olivia Luke, of Dearing, Georgia, entered into rest Wednesday, September 8, 1971, at University Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Boyd Reeves and the Rev. Hubert Hare officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be H.H. Holoman, Ira Neal, Sam Johnson, J.D. Russell, Raymond Russell and George Meadows. Mr. Luke was a native of Columbia County, Georgia, but had lived most of his life in McDuffie County, Ga. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Effie Gilmer and Mrs. Mary L. Johnson, both of Dearing; four brothers, Richard Luke and Jesse Luke, both of Thomson, Ga., and Leonard Luke and John Luke, both of Augusta. S.A. Blanchard Funeral Home.
