DIES TODAY AT HOSPITAL

John Levi Adler, 89, lifetime resident of Jefferson county, died at 3 a.m. today at the Jefferson county hospital where he had been a patient only a few hours. He had been in failing health for several years and suffered a stroke Wednesday morning and was taken to the hospital that evening.

Last rites will be held Monday at the Hoskins funeral home and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. ADLER was born December 26, 1857, in Jefferson county and remained a resident of this community all his life. He was the son of Fred and Catherine Leffler Adler. He married Laura Shephard who preceded him in death February 20, 1940. Mr. Adler was a retired farmer.

He is survived by the following children: William, Frank, Edward, and Merle, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Lonnie Stone, Selma; Mrs. Emil Engle, Burlington; and two brothers, Frank and Lewis, also of Fairfield.

Sixteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by five children.
