Two Adler Children Die of Pneumonia

Passed away at Ottumwa And Brought Here For Burial

Two of the children of Mr. And Mrs.John Adler died at their home in Ottumwa last Monday of pneumonia, within-an hour of each other. The remainder were brought here for burial Wednesday at the Lutheran church yard near their old home at Germanville. The children were Mae Elsie Adler aged 7 years 5 months and 6 days, and Clara Viola Adler aged 12 years, 10 mo. and 28 days. The first died at 2 O'Clock Monday morning and the other at 3 o'clock. The father and two friends came with the bodies which reached here on the M & St. L. Wednesday afternoon. The family moved to Ottumwa a year or more ago. The father is a son of the late Fred Adler, and old settler of Walnut township and the mother is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shepherd, also old residents of Brighton. There are six surviving children of the John Adler family, two or three of whom are sick with the pneumonia and one not expected to live.
