Happy, busy life in new, Indian country is best remembered by Mrs. Lena Jantz Harrell who came with her family by train to Pauls Valley in the Indian Territory in 1892. She was born Dec. 15, 1884, near Moundridge, Kans. The Jantz family came to the home place south of Fort Cobb in 1895 and helped develop what was to be Caddo county. Later after she married Mr. Harrell, they operated their farm between Colony and Hydro for several years before returning to farm in the Alden community. Since Mr. Harrell's death she has made her home in Carnegie.

Funeral for Lena Harrell, 92, who died Tuesday in a nursing home here, will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Peters officiating. Burial will be in Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harrell was born Dec. 15, 1884, in Kansas. She had lived in the Carnegie area for about 50 years. Her husband, Harvey Harrell, died in 1953.
Survivors include one brother, Dan Jantz of Bethany; four sisters: Anna Foglestram, Cashmere, Wash., Thilbena Janz, Inola, Mary Schmidt, Carnegie, and Kate Unruh of Meno, Okla.
