After doing research on the Palmetto Sharp Shooters I found a list of the battles with dates they fought, (author of the article was not named). Although I don't know the exact date David was wounded, I do know he was wounded and taken to Manchester Hospital where he died June 24, 1862, (from Fold3 website). The Palmetto Sharp Shooters were fighting at Seven Pines (Fair Oaks Station) near Richmond, VA, from May 31 - June 1st of 1862. Their next battle was at Gaines Mill on June 27, 1862, but David was dead by then. There were 244 casualties in the Seven Pines Battle. Richmond, VA, is less than 2 miles from Manchester, VA, where he died. Although it's speculation on my part, I believe David fought in the Seven Pines Battle (Fair Oaks Station) near Richmond.
