In the 1860 census, Sarah and her family lived in Pickens, SC. In the 1870 & 1880 census she and her family lived in Seneca, SC. It was probably the same home place but the name of the district may have changed. In the 1900 census her father had already passed away 6 years earlier. Sarah was living with her brother, John Earle Lewis, Sr, (my grandfather) in Seneca, along with her widowed mother and single sister, Sue. In 1919, the home place burned to the ground and the family moved to Cornelia, Habersham Co, Ga. In the 1930 census, Sarah lived with her nephew, Richard Lewis, (my father) in Cornelia, Ga, her brother, John Earle Lewis, having died two years earlier.
