LIVED HERE SINCE 1840
Was Up and About His Home Yesterday Morning and Passed Away Before Noon - Funeral is Monday Morning.
Charles Andrew, aged 69 years, died yesterday noon at his home in Argyle, close to the Argyle church, from heart trouble.
He had been ill for a week past, his heart troubling him severely. He was able to be up and about his place yesterday morning but returned to his bed and complained of discomfort. In a short time he passed away in a few hours.
He came to this country in 1840 at the age of one year, and came to Argyle with his parents, the remainder of his life being passed there. He was highly regarded for his honesty, and probity and through his long residence gained an acquaintance that stretched far over the Scotch settlement.
He is survived by his wife and four children, two sons and two daughters. There are also three brothers and five sisters remaining, all but two of whom live in or near Argyle. Mrs. J.E. Picken and David Andrew of Rockford are brother and sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the home, the Rev. Picken of the Argyle church, officiating.
