The funeral for Pearl Garrett Harris, 80, of Irisburg Road in Martinsville, who died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Martinsville, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville. The Rev. Steven Masters will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the funeral Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Beckham United Methodist Church, 250 Turner-Ashby Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
She was born in Henry County on Jan. 13, 1927, to James Samuel Garrett and Rosa Hundley Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Steagall and Clara Eggleston; and three brothers, Clyde Garrett, Leonard Garrett and Herman Garrett.
She worked at Piedmont Trust Bank in Martinsville for 15 years and retired from Patrick Henry Community College, where she was a resource aid.
Surviving are her husband, Tony W. Harris of the home; a sister, Ruby Garrett of Martinsville; and nieces and nephews.
