Clyde Milton Garrett, 78, of Rt. 8, Martinsville, died Tuesday (Nov 4, 1986) at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

He was a native of Henry County, born Jan 25, 1908, to the late James Samuel Garrett and Rosa Belle Hundley Garrett. He was a retired security guard with nine years with Pulaski Furniture Company, and was a member of Axton Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Inez Thomasson Garrett of the home; a son Fred Milton Garrett of Archdale, NC; a daughter, Mrs. David (Nancy) Eanes of Martinsville; a brother, Herman Lee Garrett of Fieldale; four sisters, Mrs. Madeline Steagall of Martinsville, Mrs. Tony (Pearl) Harris and Mrs. Posey (Clara) Eggleston and Miss Ruby Garrett, all of Axton; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 PM Thursday at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Oscar Adams and Dr. James Baucom. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at Roselawn Funeral Home 7-8:30 PM today.
