Mildred E. Walters, 86, of Linton, Indiana formerly of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, Indiana.
She was born on October 8, 1925 in Sullivan, Indiana the daughter of Lex and Lizzie (McCammon) Akers. Mildred was a member of Church of God in Sullivan, Indiana and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil Walters, one daughter Betty Brown, three brothers; Clarence Akers, Lex Akers Jr. and Roy Akers and two sisters; Mary Akers and Dorothy Wall.
Survivors include two sons; Jerry Walters of Terre Haute, Indiana and Larry (Bonnie) Walters of Tacoma, Washington, two daughters; Marilyn (Dennis Mikels) Johnson of Terre Haute, Indiana and Sandy (Don) Nethery of Palestine, Illinois, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, eighteen great great-grandchildren, and one brother; Walter (Annabelle) Akers of Shelburn, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. Jim Salyers officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery located in Sullivan, Indiana. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home.
