Mary J. Akers, 74, Sullivan, died at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1991, at Miller's Merry Manor, Sullivan.
She was born March 9, 1917, in Sullivan County to Lex and Lizzie McCammon Akers.
She was preceded in death by two sons; one grandchild; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Walters and Dorothy Wall, Sullivan; three brothers, Lex Akers, Jr., Shelburn, and Clarence Akers and Walter Akers, Gary; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Day officiating. Burial is in Center Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services Thursday.
