Clyde Nicholas Hardesty, 82, of Route 1, Brandenburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He was born Sept. 20, 1903, the son of Michael Nicholas Hardesty and Essie Victoria (Payne) Hardesty. Mr. Hardesty was a retired farmer, a member of Meade County Senior Citizens and was formerly employed at Kentucky Metals Co. He was preceded in death by three children, Henry Nicholas, Agnes Catherine and Mary Dorothy Hardesty. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Catherine (Pendleton) Hardesty; four children, Clarence A. Hardesty, Mrs. James (Virginia) Ray, Mrs. Joseph (Marlene) Cook, all of Brandenburg, and Mrs. James (Phyllis) Pike, Louisville; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Eva) Corbett, Mrs. Corine Abell, Louisville, Mrs. Lucille Skelton, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. David (Margaret) Richardson, Brandenburg; four brothers, Eugene Hardesty, Lowell, Ind., Robert Hardesty, Hubert Hardesty, Brandenburg, and David Hardesty, Louisville; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Vigil services were held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Hager Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. J.A. O'Bryan, Rev. Bill Martin and Rev. Lawrence Hardesty officiating. Burial was in St. George Cemetery directed by Hager Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Neil Cook, Tommy Hardesty, Dale Pike, Jeffrey Ray, Gene Hardesty and Darrell Pike. Honorary bearers were Pat Hardesty, Marvin Hardesty, David Hardesty, Dylan Cook, Kyle Cook and Glenn Cook.
