MRS. V. JOHNSON PASSES AFTER A WEEK'S ILLNESS
Had Lived in the Algona Neighborhood Since '92;
Survived by Husband and Seven Children
Following an illness of a week, Mrs. Victor Johnson passed away at her home in Union township, just north of Highway 18, adjoining the northeast city limits, at 7:30 in the morning, Tuesday, January 12th, at the age of 68 years and five days.
Born in Norway
Petrina Olivia Omholt was born in Sansvar (sic), Norway, January 6, 1875, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Hans (sic) Omholt. She came to this country in 1892 and came directly to Algona where she had since resided. On December 12th, 1895, she was united in marriage to Victor Johnson, Union township, and they lived in the same section all these years. To this union were born eleven children of which seven survive as follows: Florence Calhoun and Emma Hagg of Algona; Ruth Davidson of Dolton, South Dakota; Lillian Anderson, of Wahoo, Nebraska; Helen Seeley,of Dolliver, Iowa, and Evelyn Sorenson, of LuVerne and Hjalmar and family who are working the home farm with their father.
Four sons, Carl and Milton in infancy, and Wilfrd in 1935 and Edwin in 1942, preceded their mother in death. A daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Johnson, widow of Edwin, also survives.
Funeral Thursday
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Algona, and had worked for and within its religous activities many years. The funeral services will be held at the house Thursday (today) at 1:30 followed by services at the church at 2:00 with Rev. Eugene Nelson in charge. Interment was in Riverview cemetery.
