EDWIN JOHNSON DIES IN HOSPITAL AT ROCHESTER
Was Born and Raised in Algona;
Had Been Seriously Ill But a Few Days
Death came suddenly and unexpectedly to Edwin Johnson, Algona, in a Rochester hospital Friday afternoon. Accompanied by Mrs. Johnson, he had gone to the Colonial Hospital at Rochester for a checkup and observation Thursday. He had been in rather poor health for several months and has not worked since February 1st. He was suffering with a liver aliment and complications were the direct cause of his untimely death.
Born in Algona
Edwin Johnson was born on the farm east of town, the son of Mr. and Mrs. V. Johnson, April 19, 1900. He attended school here and had lived here all his life. On August 15, 1934, he was married to Miss Lucile Olson and on daughter, Beverly Jean, was born to them. He had followed farming for many years, but in September, 1934, he operated a service station on Highway 18, just east of town and this he operated in connection with a restaurant until his death.
Survived by Family
He is survived by his wife and daughter, as well as his parents ,still living on the home place across the highway from his station. Funeral services were held at home at 2:00 Monday afternoon and in the First Lutheran Church at 2:30 in charge of Rev. E. K. Johnson and interment in Riverview cemetery.
