C. OMHOLT FORMER FALLS MAN, DIES

Christian Omholt, 80, of Dutton, early day Great Falls contractor who installed many of the city's first water mains, died Monday night at a Choteau hospital. He had been in poor health for a long period and hospitalized nine weeks in Norway.

He came to the country as a youth and to Great Falls in 1908.

In Partnership with Gus Nilson and Oscar Lindstrom, Omholt went into the construction business, contracting for sewer lines and water main installations. He and Lindstrom later formed a contracting partnership in 1931.

Omholt was born Nov. 20, 1878. Omholt moved to Fort Shaw and engaged in ranching until three years ago when he retired and moved to Dutton.

Mrs. Omholt died in 1954. Surviving relatives are five sons, Leonard and Edward of Great Falls, Arnold of King Salmon Island, Alaska; Gerald of Fort Shaw, and Elmer of Dutton; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Decker, Dutton; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from Croxford's Mortuary with the Rev. Allen Haugen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
