Con Scully Dies Thursday After Lingering Illness

Cornelius (Con) Scully, 64, well known Crookston Business man, died Thursday night at a local hospital following an illness of 12 weeks. For the past 37 years he has owned and operated a retail furniture store in this city.

Born at Gentilly May 7, 1883, he came to Crookston with his family in 1908 and has resided here since that date. He was a member of the Cathedral parish and the local unit of of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Lance of Gentilly, four children, Lorraine and Patrick of Grand Forks, Milton and Mrs. L. M. Norman Jr. of Crookston. He also leaves two grand children, Connie and Michael Norman, three sisters, Sister M. Conelia of International Falls, Miss Kate Scullyand Mrs. E. L. Conkins of Crookston, one brother Dan Scully of Gentilly, in addition to 19 nieces and 14 nephews.

The body was prepared at the Norman Funeral Home. It will be removed to the Scully residence at 821 N. Broadway late Saturday afternoon. Members of the Knights of Columbus will meet there at 8:30 a.m. Sunday night to say the rosary.

The funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10:30 at the Cathedral. The Rev. Arthur LeMiere will officiate at the solemn requiem high mass. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Fred Cyr, William Hendry, Roy Stainbrook, George Rauenbuehler, Paul Wagner and C. M. Monroe. Honorary bearers will be Gus Heldstab, Francis LaBonte, Fred Stainbrook, Henry Welte, Ben Vonderbeck and George Richards.
