Obituary:
Glen Meyer, June 9---After a lingering illness with cancer of the stomach Mr. John Meharg Sr, passed peacefully away on Monday in the 75th [should be 77th] year of his age. Mr. Meharg was one of the oldest residents of this place, having lived here for over fifty years. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church for a number of years and always, when able, took an active part in both church and Sunday school. Besides his companion he leaves to mourn his loss eleven children, nine sons and two daughters: Nicholas, William, Charlie, and Joseph, of Mich.; Alfred of Wisconsin, David of Tillsonburg, John of Vienna, Robert and Mrs. Hetherington of Glen Meyer; Mrs. George Whitesell, Bayham, and Whitfield at home. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at Kinglake, Rev. R. Lackland (sp?) conducting the services.
