Obituary, Tillsonburg News, 10 April 1958 – Whitfield T Meharg: Born in Houghton Tp where he resided on the homestead all of his life, Whitfield T Meharg of RR2 Glen Meyer, passed away Friday at Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital in his 79th year. The deceased was the son of the late John Meharg and Mary Longstaff, and was one of 11 children. He was a member of the United Church, Kinglake. Survivors are one son, George of RR2 Glen Meyer; one sister Mrs George Whitesell of Tillsonburg, and four grandchildren. Rested at the Ostrander funeral home where service was conducted Monday at 2 pm by Mr A Cleland of the United Church, Cultus. Pallbearers were John Priddle, Isaac Ball, Ream Hall, George Mabee, Tom Crow and Frank Mabee. Interment in the Kinglake Cemetery.
