Funeral Services
Held on Saturday
Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. Beulah Grace Nelson, 75, at the Donovan-Leyson Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Carlson of the United Methodist Church officiating.
Mrs. Nelson died last Thursday at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
She was born March 14, 1896 at Coon Rapids, the daughter of John and Alminnie Booton Baker.
Mrs. Nelson attended elementary school at Coon Rapids and graduated from Spirit Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Neil S. Nelson on Aug. 4, 1916 at Estherville. The couple resided then in Spirit Lake.
Survivors include her husband, Neil; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Lorna) Kelley of Spirit Lake, Mrs. George (Jean) Dawson of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Glen (Irene) Powers of Indianola; one son, Neil D. Nelson of Walworth, Wisc., two brothers, Edgar B. Baker of Coon Rapids, John T. Baker of Spirit Lake; one sister, Mildred A. Droll of Downey, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Special music was provided by Mrs. Paul Redington and Mrs. Stanley Somers. Pallbearers were Floyd Thompson, Johnny Russell, Arnold Hawk, Robert Pilver, Dean Bundy and Stanley Somers.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with the Donovan-Leyson Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
