Melvin Pierce Dorn Jr., 76, of Colorado City died March 2, 2009. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in the First United Methodist Church in Colorado City with the Rev. Johnny Dorn and the Rev. Kiefer Cauble officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dorn Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Colorado City to Melvin Pierce Dorn Sr. and Katherine Witt Dorn, the youngest of six children. He married Shirley Audrey Ann Rees March 24, 1951, and worked as an engineer for TxDOT for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dorn, of Colorado City; daughters, Sylvia and Kenny Clanton of Colorado City, Susan Griffin Chambers of Austin and Shellie and Craig Cline of Morgan Mill; several grandchildren and a great grandchild.
