Delbert Wells
Midland --- Services for Delbert Wells Jr., 78, of Midland were to have been at 3 p.m. today at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Born March 21, 1911 in Brownwood, he farmed and had his own paint and body shop here before moving to Midland in 1949. There he owned and operated a paint and body shop until his illness. He had been in a nursing home the past few years. He served as a minister in Midland and for several years had a religious radio program.
Survivors include three sons, Roger and Darrell Wells, both of Midland, and Kevin Wells of San Angelo; two daughters, Annete Wells of La Grange and Marquita Goodyear of Austin; one sister, Lola Flowers of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
