Succumbs to Illness Late Sunday Evening at Her Home
Passes Away After a Short Illness
Leaves Large Family to Mourn Her Demise
Lived in This City Many Years
After an illness of but a few short weeks Mrs. Sophia Kasper passed into the great unknown late Sunday evening. She had been ill at her home on East Third street with stomach trouble for some time, although not bed-fast, which ailment finally caused her death. She is survived by nine children, and her husband. She had lived in this city for the past thirty-seven years. The funeral will take place at St. Mary's church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
Mrs. Sophia Reinhart Kasper was born in Galena, Ill., September 17, 1842, and was sixty-one years and twenty-five days old when death claimed her. She was married October 23, 1866, to Frank M Kasper and had since the day of her marriage resided in this city, living in the same house all her married life. She is survived by her husband, Frank M Kasper, and eight sons and daughters, namely: Mrs. Anna Hess, of Davenport; Mrs. Lizzie Meier, of Davenport; Frank Kasper, of this city; Mrs. Minnie Harper, of Bayfield; Joseph Kasper, of this city; Mrs. Kate Schoo, of Davenport, and Misses Mary and Nettie Kasper, of this city.
