Mrs. Charles S. Harper, 79, of route 5, a lifetime resident of Muscatine county, died at 1 a.m. today at Hershey hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 9, 1874, being a daughter of Frank and Sophia Kasper. She was married to Mr. Harper April 19, 1899 at Muscatine. Mrs. Harper was a member of St. Mary's church.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Frank Harper, Herschel Harper and Clarence Harper, all of this community; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Schoo of Davenport, Mrs. Mary Bishop and Miss Nettie Kasper, both of Muscatine; and a brother, Joe Kasper of Muscatine. Eight grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son in infancy, a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J.J. Schoenfelder at St. Mary's church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery. The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home; where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Final rites for Mrs. Charles S. Harper, 79, who died Monday at Hershey hospital, were held this morning at St. Mary's church with Rev. J. J. Schoenfelder in charge.
Pallbearers were Herschell Will, John Brugman, William King, Grant Sample, Lloyd Kurriger and James Smalley. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
The Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.
