Andrew Everman Jr., the fourth child of Andrew Everman Sr. and Nancy Wasson, was born September 2, 1817 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. He was married September 5, 1839 in Putman County, Indiana to Nety Gardner, the daughter of Andrew Gardner and Margaret Byerly. Andrew and Nety Everman lived in Putman County, Indiana until 1847 when they moved to Monroe County, Iowa where they remained for eleven years and then returned to Indiana. They settled on a farm near Burlington, Carroll County, where they remained the rest of their lives. Andrew died in 1905.

A Prominent Burlington Citizen Called Away

Andrew Everman, one of the best known pioneer residents of Burlington, died at his late home at that place at the advanced age of 84 years. He was a man of contemporaneous with the late Dr. Anderson and Dr. J. M. Darnell, of this city, all of whom were prominent figures at Burlington fifty years ago, and all of whom were well and favorably known throughout the west half of Howard County.

He was the father of William and Mart Everman of Burlington, and W. B. Everman, United States Fish Commissioner of Washington, D.C. He was an ardent Republican in politics and a life-long member of the Christian Church at Burlington. He was a model farmer and a well-rounded Christian gentleman who was well informed on all the leading questions of the time. The funeral was held today at the Christian Church in Burlington.
