Indianapolis News - Friday, September 30, 1932:
Barton Warren Everman, author and ichthyologist, died Tuesday, September 27, at his home in San Francisco, according to word received in Indianapolis where Mr. Everman once lived.
Born in Monroe County, Iowa on October 24, 1853, Mr. Everman was graduated from Indiana University, holding a B.S., Ph.D., and A.M. degrees. He received his LL.D. from the University of Utah in 1922. He married Miss Meadie Hawkins, Burlington, in 1875.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. William E. Humphrey and Toxaway Everman, both of Washington. Other relatives live in Carroll and Howard Counties.
Dr. Amos W. Butler, formerly secretary of the Indiana Board of State Charities, who received word of Dr. Everman's death, said that he understood the body would be buried in Burlington, Carroll County, Indiana.
