He was a Burlington High School graduate. He retired from I.B.E.W., Local 873, as an electrician. He also owned and operated Rhine Electric and was the city's electrical inspector.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 65 years, a member of the National Contractors Association, Kokomo Noon Lions Club, Ponderosa Coffee Club and U.C.T. He was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years and a member of First Friends Meeting.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Rhine, Kokomo; a son, Richard Rhine, Kokomo; a daughter, Jeanne Sipahigil, Liberty; brothers, Ralph Rhine, Russiaville, and Floyd Rhine, Burlington; sisters, Thelma Davis, Rossville, Dortha Robison, Carmel and Esther Bennett, Kokomo; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Justin Webber will officiate. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Memorials may be made to First Friends Meeting.
