Esther F. Bennett, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Born Dec. 26, 1926, to Charley and Arvella (Lanning) Rhine, Esther married Wayne Bennett on Jan. 9, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1985.

She was a graduate of Burlington High School and had a career as a general supervisor at Delco Electronics for over 38 years.

Esther was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Kokomo Chapter #89 Order of the Eastern Star and the Past Matrons Club of the Eastern Star.

Esther is survived by her children, Elisha (Dean) Small, Kokomo, Michele (Steve) Sears, Chloe, W. Va., and Brad Bennett (fiancee Connie Shelton), Kokomo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jean Cassingham. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wayne.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Nancy Blevins officiating, assisted by the Rev. Harold Williams. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
