Mrs. Arvella E. Rhine, 94, of
Burlington, died at 12:15 p.m.
Sunday, April 24, 1977, at St
Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. She
had been in poor health for two
months.
Born in Carroll County, August
13, 1882, she was the daughter of
James A. and .Phoebe J.
Hopkinson Lanning. She was
married to Charley A. Rhine,
Nov. 15, 1900, who died May 2,
1954.
Mrs. Rhine was a lifetime
resident of the Burlington area
and a member of the Burlington
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons,
Charles W. Rhine, Kokomo;
Ralph R. Rhine, Rt. 1, Kokomo;
and Floyd R. Rhine, Rt. 1,
Kokomo; four daughters, Mrs.
Thelma G. Metsger, Rt. 1,
Cutler; Mrs. Dortha Robison, Rt.
6, Noblesville; Mrs. Esther F.
Bennet., Kokomo; and Mrs. Eva
M. Humes, Hopkinsville, Kentucky;
25 grandchildren and 34
great-grandchildren.
One daughter and two sons
preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be
Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the
Neptune Funeral Home,
Burlington, with the Rev. Ralph
P. Karstedt officiating. Burial
will be in the Burlington
Cemetery.
