Ida Mae Blundell Vaughn
Mrs. Ida Mae Blundell Vaughn, wife of T.T. Vaughn formerly of this place died in a Chickasha hospital, Monday, December 29 following a severe illness of two weeks. The body was brought to Carnegie Tuesday evening and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. J.F. Lenox. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. W.A.R. Lovell and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery.
Ida Mae Blundell was born in Sherman, Texas February 2, 1872 and died at Chickasha, Oklahoma, Monday, December 29, 1924 age 52 years, 9 months and 28 days. She grew to young womanhood at Sherman, Texas and later moved with her parents to Georgetown where she married December 29, 1889 to T.T. Vaughn. The Vaughn's moved to a farm northwest of Carnegie in January 1906 where they made their home until they bought a farm near Pocasset where they have lived for the past eight years. It was Mrs. Vaughn's request that she be buried in the Carnegie cemetery. She was a member of the Christian church here.
Mrs. Vaughn had been in failing health for the past year and was taken to the hospital two weeks ago where she underwent two severe operations in an effort to save her life. Her death occurred almost exactly to the hour and minute thirty-five years from the date of her marriage.

She leaves besides her husband, five children, Ernest T. Vaughn of Carnegie; Mrs. Guy Youngblood of Minden, La.; Asa Vaughn of Tiago, Texas; and William McCoy and Thelma Fay at home all of whom were present at the funeral. Those who came Wednesday were her sisters, Mrs. R.N. Phillips and Mrs. S.J. Wilson and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Asa Vaughn, all of Tiago, Texas.
