Dies Following Stroke
Charles Thresh aged 70 years died suddenly Friday 5 September 1930 as a result of a stroke of apoplexy. He was returning to his home with a flock of sheep when stricken and had lain in the highway where he had fallen from the hour of 11 o'clock am till 4:30 pm when discovered by Ed Gosser. The Muskingum County coroner was called to view the body and pronounced death due to a stroke of apoplexy. The deceased was the son of Valentine Thresh and was born in Adams Township March 19, 1860. He was baptized in infancy and later in life confirmed and affiliated with the Zion Lutheran Church to which he was a faithful member throughout his life. Mr Thresh was united in marriage with Sarah M Spring December 24, 1885 and to this union were born two daughters Mrs Laurena Wohlheter and Mrs Florence Thresh of Adams Township both of whom survive. He made his home with Mrs Thresh for the past three years. Other survivors are one brother Jacob Thresh of Otsego and one sister Mrs Mary Brannon of Zanesville, seven grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev J Barthemas, Sunday afternoon in Zion Lutheran Church and burial was made in Zion Cemetery under the direction of undertaker H E Shirer.
