Gary R. "Jack" Burr, 68, Geuda Springs, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1988) at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born July 4, 1919, to Gary R. and Teresa Jarboe Burr in Arkansas City. He attended Arkansas City schools.

He married Helen Baber, May 2, 1940, in Newkirk. They moved to Arkansas City in 1966. They later moved to Geuda Springs where he coached Little League baseball for 10 years.

He was a mechanic at Boeing Aircraft.

Survivors include his wife Helen, of the home: two sons, Walter, Arkansas City, and Mark, Geuda Springs; four daughters, Rhonda Bates, Arkansas City, Pat Garrigues, Pretty Prairie, Cheryl Haines and Lesa Stone, Dexter; brother, Clarence, Arizona; three sisters, Mary Wolf and Wilma Graham, both Arkansas City, and Alice Lowrie, Mulvane; 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and sisters and a daughter.

Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday at Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Chapel with Rev. Henry W. Cox officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
