Walter "Sonny" Dennis Burr, 76, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at South Central Kansas Medical Center.
Sonny was born on May 8, 1947 in Arkansas City to parents Gary "Jack" and Helen (Baber) Burr. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ramona Boyer, on November 25, 1964 in Ark City. Sonny worked many jobs, in construction, for the city of Ark City, and for the railroad. He enjoyed life, going to the casino, playing bingo, watching Chiefs football, watching tv, or his favorite movie, The Grapes of Wrath, with his wife was all he needed to be happy. He will truly be missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife Ramona, children, Mike Burr (Tara), Sheila LaBlue (Norvel), Lori Burr, Sonny Michelle Jelley (Jamey), Nikki Smith (Jerrod), 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren whom he loved and admired as much as his children, as well as siblings Mark Burr, Lesa Stone, Ronda Bates and Pat Garrigues. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Cheryl Haynes and Barbara Burr.
