Mary was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Arkansas City, to Rufus G. and Teresa A. (Jarboe) Burr. She was reared and educated in rural Arkansas City. Mary married Fred S. Wolf on Nov. 27, 1931, in Newkirk, Okla. The couple lived in the Arkansas City area all their married lives. Mary worked for Pamona Tile Company at Strother Field for several years during the 1940s, then spent over 44 years working for Graves Drug Store. Mary trusted God with all her heart and was a longtime active member of Central Christian Church and the sewing circle at the church. She enjoyed card clubs with many of her friends and the local square dance club, where her husband was a "caller."
Survivors include two sons, Fred and his wife, Marjorie, El Reno, Okla., Doyle and his wife, Carol, South Haven; a daughter, Andrea Wolf, Arkansas City; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred S. in 1977; a grandson, Allen Jay Wolf; five brothers, Arthur, John, Gary (Jack), Aaron, and Clarence (Shorty); three sisters, Wilma Graham, Ruth Sumpter, and Alice Lowrie.
Memorials have been established with the Alzheimers and Similar Diseases Foundation or Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
