Daughter of Andrew J. Smith and Margaret Sarah Stephens/Stevens. Obit below is incorrect.

First husband was William Harbrecht married on 8 Dec 1878 in St. John's Church in Michigan City, Indiana.
Second husband was Phillip Dillinger married on 16 Oct 1894 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Chesterton, Indiana.

Etta married William Harbrecht at St. John's church in Michigan City, Indiana on Dec 8, 1878. They were the parents of several children which included Clara Agnes (Crowe), Augusta (Schultz), Lillian (Reglein) and William Harbrecht Jr. William Sr died on Nov 29, 1892 from tuberculosis. William Sr is buried in Chesterton Cemetery.

Etta was stepmother to Hazel Amanda, George, Mary, Elizabeth, Calvin and Emma Dillinger.

She was the mother of Nevada, Ethel Marie, Laurence (m. O'Connor) and Sylvester Dillinger.

NORTH COUNTY WOMAN VICTIM OF DEATH TODAY
CHESTERTON, Ind., Nov. 9--Mrs. Etta Dillinger, age 77, of Morgan Park, Chesterton, died this morning at 6 o'clock at her home following a two weeks' illness of complications. She had resided in Morgan Park for the last 15 years.

Her husband, Phillip Dillinger, preceded her in death a number of years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Reglein of Chesterton, and Mrs. Clara Crowe, of Chicago Heights, Ill., two sons, William Harbrecht of Chesterton by a former marriage, and Laurence Dillinger of Chesterton. There are also seven grandchildren and two [great]grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

The body was removed to the Flynn funeral chapel in Chesterton pending funeral arrangements which are expected to be made late this afternoon.

Mrs. Dillinger Passes Away
Mrs. Etta Dillinger, a resident of this community nearly all her life, passed away a 6 o'clock this (Wednesday) morning a the age of 76, following a weeks illness of complications.

Etta Smith was born on Feb. 9, 1862, in Chesterton, the daughter of Andrew and [sic] Henrietta (should read Margaret Stephens) Smith. She was married to William Harbrecht, who passed away about forty-six years ago.

Mrs. Dillinger lived in Chesterton all her life with the exception of twenty years spent in Chicago Heights. She could relate many interesting tales concerning the history of this community. She was a member of St. Patrick's church here. Mrs. Dillinger was a devoted mother and a kind neighbor and she leaves many friends to mourn her passing.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara Crowe of Chicago Heights, and Mrs. Lillie Reglein of Chesterton; two sons, Lawrence Dillinger and William Harbrecht both of Chesterton; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Hulce of Michigan City, Mrs. Mary Moore of Chicago and a sister, Mrs. Louise Nelson of Kalamazoo; three brothers, John Smith of Michigan City, William Smith of Harvey, Illinois and Sylvester Smith of Benton Harbor, Mich. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Augusta Shultz died over thirty years ago, and two daughters and a son died at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock, Saturday morning at St. Patrick's church with Rev. E. F. Eisenhardt officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.
