Mrs. Nancy Berry Hiner, 53, of Woodward Apartments died Tuesday night (June 16, 1070) in King's Daughters' Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday.

She was born In Augusta County on Sept. 3, 1916, a daughter of the late Arch and LeeVata (Root) Berry.

Mrs. Hiner was associated with Shenandoah Valley Inc., as secretary and was vice president of the Staunton Augusta County Fair Association. She was the treasurer of the Professional Women's Club and was a member of the Sisters of Rebecca Lodge and the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Eugenia Lee D'Iorio of Claymont, Del; two brothers, J. Edwin and Fred R. Berry, both of Staunton; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Pete Hiner, died Dec. 27 1962.


A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. R. Claxton Hell. Burial will be in Pleasant View Lutheran Church Cemetery.


Pallbearrs will be James S. Simmons Jr., McPherson Blair, James E. Cosby, Rodney E. Shiflett, Rex Spiece, Carlton D. Newlan, E. B. Morse, Robert Sterett and H. B. Stephenson.

The body is at the Hamrick Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The family is at the home of her brother, Fred R. Berry at 319 Rainbow Drive.

The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to services.
