STAUNTON – James Edwin "Ed" Berry, 85, of 500 C. St., died at his on Tuesday (March 5, 1996) at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1911 near Springhill, a son of Arch M. and Lee Vata (Root) Berry.
His wife, Bessie S. Berry, died on May 14, 1988.
Surviving are two sons, James Edwin Jr. of Churchville, and John R. Berry of Fishersville; a daughter, Sally B. Sipe of Las Vagas, Nev.; a brother, Fred. R. Berry of Staunton; six grandchildren; ands a great-granddaughter.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View cemetery by the Rev. David S Wills Jr.
Pallbearers will be G. Payne Fisher and G. P. Fisher III, William Colaw, Jim Wells, Carroll Eckard, Raymond Andrews, Raymond Crosby and, J. Kemper Croft.
Honorary pallbearers will be: All employees of Fisher Oil Company and Marty Harris, Roger Harris Norman Harris, Robert Harris, Randolph Wagner; Connie Knott Rickard Homes, Dick Harlow Steve Bright, French Croft; Charlie Croft, John Mohler, Charles Pingly, Millard Armstrong, Ray Winter, William Sipe, LaMar Armstrong, Mike Armstrong, Alfred Ryder and Edwin McCray.
The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 tonight at Hamrick Funeral Home.
