Berry, who had been was dead upon Dr, Nuckols arrival at six p.m. suffering a bullet wound from a 25-20 rifle in the "forehead portion" the doctor stated.
Dr. Nuckols said his corner's report will read "death by accidental means by gun." The Mt. Sidney doctor, who said he was the Berry family physician, reported that Mr. Berry was alone in a room when the incident occurred.
Surviving are Mr. Berry's wife, the former Violet Wilkerson; one daughter, Patricia Fay; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Berry, Route 5; two brothers, James Edwin and Fred Randolph Berry; and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Berry Hiner, Staunton.
The body was taken to the Hamrick and Co. Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for John M. Berry, who died as the result of a bullet wound in the forehead Saturday, will be held Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock at Pleasant View Church conducted by the Rev. Paul Shiflett, assisted by the Rev. R. L. Brill. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Erskine Cupp, James W. Berry, Richard P. Hamrick, C. A. Vigar, James A. Armstrong, J R. Dunsmore, Harold Berry, Jack Sillings; honorary, R. P. Carner, B. A. VanPelt, F. S. VanPelt, E. P. Hanger, Dr. I. M. Nuckols, Russell Zembower, J. J. Harpine, James Hiner, Harry Sillings, William Homes, Whetzel Thompson, J. F. Sutton, C. S. Switzer, C. B. Ralston,. Lacy Cupp, Fred Cupp, Carl-Berry, and D. S. Arey.
The funeral party will leave the home at Verona at 10:30 Tuesday.
