Mr. Clifford Stubb Maddox, 79, husband of Zola E. Maddox, entered into rest Saturday, July 26, 2003 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Marks Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Stroup, Rev. Dr. Michael Davenport and Rev. Hal Hodgens officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Hall, Wade Maddox, Hunter Edison, Jimmy Fronek, Thomas Jennings, Jr., Stanley McIntire, Milton Sexton, Greg Boulware, Johnny Maddox, Jason Shumaker, Jimmy Eidson, Calvin Maddox and Tyler L. Eidson, Jr. Family members include his wife of 56 years, Zola E. Maddox; daughter and son-in-law, Wyanne (Ralph) Moseley; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles W. Maddox, Ronald T. (Cheryl) Maddox, Larry W. (Donna) Maddox; grandchildren, Sheila (Greg) Boulware, Michael Hall, Jason Shumaker, Wade Maddox, Daniel Maddox and Adrienne Maddox; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cassidy Boulware; three sisters, Thelma Brown, Mary Lawton and Sara Rainwater; and one brother, Jesse Maddox. Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Fannie P. Maddox. Mr. Maddox served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Augusta Roofing and Metal Works for 35 years, retired from Plant Fogle after 5 years and taught a Metal Works class at Augusta Vocational School, taught several Sunday school classes and served on various committees at Marks Baptist Church since 1962. He was also a member of Local Union 85 Sheet Metal Workers. Poteet Funeral Home.
