Mr. John W. Maddox of 3007 Pinewood Drive, August, Georgia, entered into rest, Sunday, June 18, 1978, at an Augusta hospital. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with the Rev. C.A. Dabney officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Maddox was a native of Richmond County a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and the St. Johns Bible Class. He was a retired salesman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Veda Reville Maddox, one son, John W. Maddox Jr., Augusta; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Brown, Mrs. Dorothy Fronek, Augusta, Mrs. Sara Foley, Atlanta, and Mrs. Mary Lawton. Panama City, Fla.; and two brothers, Jesse Maddox and Clifford Maddox, Augusta. Pallbearers will be Carvil Chalk, Forest Bell, John Rogers, Cecil Smith, Shelton Ogletree and Jim Sullivent. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons, budget and finance committee of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
