Millard Richard was a son of Wesley and Suzanna S. Smith Wachter and twice married, first wife Mary Elizabeth Bell Wachter, whom predeceased him on November 9, 1907 and secondly, Jennie Irene Rice Wachter, Harmony Grove, who survives him.

Millard was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, Chippewa Tribe, # 19, Improved Order Of Red Men and the Frederick Lodge # 371 Loyal Order Of The Moose.

In addition to his wife he is survived by, sons, Robert Wachter and wife Mildred, Mountaindale; Calvin Wesley and wife Naomi Frances, Bloomfield; Phillip C. Wachter, in the US Army stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.; Perry Wachter, Harmony Grove; Millard Richard Wachter Jr., Harmony Grove; Thomas E. Wachter, Baltimore and Edward Daniel and Frank Hill Wachter both at the Buckingham School, Buckeystown and Charles Wachter, near Ladiesburg. and daughters, Mildred Dounes, Washington, D.C.; Jennie Mae Michael and husband Oscar, Mountaindale and Louise Irene Smith and was predeceased by several Infants.

Millard is also survived by one sister, Mattie H. Harris and husband William, near Frederick and three brothers, Curtis Wachter, Bloomfield; Martin L. Wachter, Charlesville and Newton Wachter, Frederick.

Funeral at the M.R. Etchison Funeral Home, Frederick with internment and internment made in Charlesville Cemetery by Etchison funeral directors.
