Lena Louise Bitner 95, of Centerville died Nov. 11, 1994, at the Centerville Care Center.

She was born April 13, 1899, in Highland Center to Minnie and Charles Sauer. She married Vernie Bitner on Dec. 25, 1920, in Delta.

As a young woman, she taught school briefly. She was a homemaker. She attended First Baptist Church and was active in Ladies Circle.

She is survived by a daughter, Irma Vincent of Moravia; three sons, Don and Marvin of Centerville and Jerry of Bethel Park, Penn.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dale and Doyle Sauer of Sigourney.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Harry; a grandson; two brothers, Andrew and Skeets; and three sisters, Lucille Harkins, Peggy Darnell and Ruth Snakenbury.

The service will be 9 a.m. Monday at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, the Rev. Edgar Foster officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati.

An open visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to First Baptist church and may be left at the funeral home.
