Mary Lucille Harkins, 78, of Hedrick died Monday, March 2, 1987 at St. Joseph's Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 9, 1908 at Wapello County, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Ritter Sauer.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hedrick. She married Raymond LeRoy Harkins in Nov. 25, 1926 in Hedrick.

She survived by two daughters; Mrs. Bob (Norma) Spilman and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Richardson, both of Hedrick; three brothers; N.C. Murray of Dillon, Mont., Dale Sauer of Sigoourney, and Doyle Souer of What Cheer; a sister, Lena Bitner of Centerville, seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 14, 1980; her parents; two sons in infancy; a brother, and two sisters.

Services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Hedrick, Iowa. Rev. Ted Gulhaugen officiated, Soloist Mr. Erwen Ehrenhard, Organist Mrs. Florence Longaker, Interment in Bethel Cemetery Keokuk County, Iowa. Fremont Funeral Chapel in Charge of Arrangements.
