New Albany, Ind.--Ruth Paarmann Phares, 80, of New Albany, Ind., formerly of Davenport, died Friday at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home, New Albany.The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Jeffersonville, Ind.

She was employed at the former Schmidt Music Co. and had played the flute in the Quad-City Symphony Orchestra.

Ruth Paarmann married Al Phares. He died in 1983.

Survivors include sons, James and John, Missouri City, Texas; four grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Schneff, Claire Lamb and Harriette Buff, all of Davenport; and brothers, William, Carl and Ralph Paarmann, all of Davenport.

NEW ALBANY -- Ruth Paarmann Phares, 80, of Lincoln Hills of New Albany Nursing Home, died there Friday. She was a native of Davenport, Iowa.

Survivors: two sons, James M. and John M. Phares, both of Missouri City, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Walnut Ridge Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements: Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville. Memorial gifts: charity.
