Claire (Paarmann) Lamb, 94, of Davenport, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at the Kahl Home For The Aged in Davenport.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Claire was born on Dec. 10, 1910, to Will A. and Hulda (Struck) Paarmann. She was the fourth of nine children, and she remained close to her brothers and sisters throughout the years. Claire was married Dec. 29, 1936, to Charles M. Lamb, who preceded her in death. At that time, they had been married 28 years. She was a 1928 graduate of Davenport High School where she was active in music groups.

In the early years she performed with two sisters, Fae and Mildred, in a String Trio at the Hotel Blackhawk for the dinner hour entertainment. Claire worked in draperies at M.L. Parker and Von Maur for 32 years, retiring in 1975. Before her marriage, Claire spent some time in Chicago working at the Ivanhoe which was owned by her cousin, Ralph Jansen. The Ivanhoe was a popular Dinner-Nightclub located near Wrigley Field.

She loved crafts and worked part-time at several craft stores.

She is survived by one sister, Mildred Schneff; and two brothers, Carl Paarmann and Ralph Paarmann, all of the Quad Cities.
