Mrs. Tillie L. Bender

Mrs. Little (sic) L. Bender, widow of the late John H. Bender, passed peacefully away at 10:15 o'clock yesterday morning at her home on East Lincoln Highway, Downingtown, following an illness of nine weeks. She was in her 82nd year.

For the past ten years she had been an invalid, the result of a stroke, which confined her a wheel chair. During all these years she was a patient, uncomplaining sufferer, always cheerful and interested in her family and friends. Her lovable nature and sterling character endeared her to all. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Bender was born in County Tyron, Ireland, but came to America with her parents, the late William and Jane Kimmer, at the age of five years. Practically all her life was spent in Downingtown.

Besides a sister, Mrs. Carrie Golder, of West Chester, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. George Buxton, of West Chester; Clifford, of Bryn Mawr; Lydia, Harry and Warren, of Downingtown. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late home, with interment in Northwood Cemetery.

*Note: There are various spellings of her maiden name in other obituaries.
