Clifton J. Bender, 79, Turks Head Inn and Market Sts., West Chester, died at Chester County Hospital yesterday morning. He had been in failing health for the past seven months.
Mr. Bender was born Apr. 13, 1882 at Glen Moore, the son of the late John and Matilda Kinear Bender. He lived most of his life at Bryn Mawr.
A registered plumber, Mr. Bender has been employed by the firm of Robert Shank, Bryn Mawr, until he retired nine years ago. He resided in West Chester for the past two years.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Ickoff Bender; one daughter, Edna M., wife of William Bingham, Chester Springs; one brother, Warren L. Bender, Downingtown, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
