Lydia Bender

Lydia Bender, of 422 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, died in the Chester County Hospital on Saturday afternoon in her 55th year. She had been ill for several weeks.

The deceased was born in Downingtown, a daughter of the late John and Tillie Kinner Bender, and spent practically all of her life in that borough. She was a member of Lyndell Grange No. 1179, the Auxiliary to the Charles f. Moran Post, American Legion, of Downingtown, and of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of St. James' Episcopal Church, Downingtown, and leaves a wide circle of friends throughout the community.

Surviving her are one sister, Mrs. George Buxton, of West Chester, and three brothers, Harry and Warren, of Downingtown, and Clifton J., of Bryn Mawr.

BENDER- In Chester County Hospital, on Saturday, May 30, Lydia Bender, in the 55th year of her age.

Relatives and friends of he family, also Lyndell Grange, No. 1179; Women's Auxiliary of Charles F. Moran Post, Downingtown, and Eastern Star, are invited to attend the funeral from her late residence, 422 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, Pa., on Wednesday, June 3rd, 1942, at 2 p.m. Interment in Northwood Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening.
