1956 - Obituary - Charlottesville, Virginia "The Daily Progress" - Obituary: Mrs Cora Thomas Sprouse of Free Union, widow of John M. Sprouse died this morning at a local hospital a native of Albemarle County, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Cornelia Sandridge Thomas and was 77. Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Nellie Davis, and Mrs Agnes Ward, both of Charlottesville, and Mrs Ruby Baldwin and Mrs Blanche Garrisonn, both of Richmond. Five sons Richard E. (Buck) and Charles M. Sprouse of Free Unon. Ellis A Sprous of Crozet and John M. Jr and Louis a Sprouse of Richmond,: a sister Mrs Pearl Blue, Of Charlottesville: Four brothers, George Thomas, of Schuyler, Edward Thomas of Mount Fair, and Henry Thomas of Crozet: 25 grandchildren and 11 great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday from Mount Moriah Methodist Church at White Hall, which burial in the church cemetery. The funeral party will leave Preddy's Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
